I have really been digging the soon to be released (only on vinyl via Sophomore Lounge, home of previous Gobb Knob faves, Slithering Beast and Only Sons) new LP from State Champion (Official / Myspace), Stale Champagne. It’s raw energy and sparse production reminds me of a slightly more rocking War Elephant-era Deer Tick. There is some twang, but there’s lot of unadulterated garage rockin’ too.
