Biting Other Blogs is an occasionally occurring feature that will direct your attention to a specific blog post or two that, most likely, I wish I had posted myself. Giving credit where credit is due, I typically wont blab too much, except to encourage you to get up on whatever blog I am highlighting…
I had a good time during my recent trip to SXSW. I suppose I’ll stop mentioning that soon enough. The bummer is that the list of bands I wanted to see, but missed is far longer than the lsit of bands that I wanted to see and actually got to. A third list, however, has emerged in the week or so since SXSW has ended: The-List-of-Bands-That-I-Didnt-See, Didnt-Know-I-Wanted-to-See, But-Should’ve-Seen-Cuz-Now-I-Regret-Not-Knowing-About-Them-Sooner list.
The band that sits atop that lengthy list? Titus Andronicus (Official / Myspace). I downloaded their kick-butt new record, The Monitor the day after SXSW ended, after hearing tons of people describe their sound and the unique, if very loose, album concept. Since Titus Andronicus aren’t new to a bunch of other great bloggers, I’m gonna let them tell you about them, okay?
- Muzzle of Bees did a little compare and contrast with TU’s first album.
- The boys at Front Porch Musings appreciated the agressive nature of the album (so do I)
