Thanks to some of my trusty fellow-bloggers alerting me to its existence, I recently picked up the new EP from Rhode Island’s own Deer Tick (Official / Myspace). More Fuel For The Fire is a brief, but exemplary extension of what Joseph John McCauley and the boys have been doing really well for the last couple of years, specifically since the release of War Elephant in 2008.
The 4 songs here are rowdy country rockers that must’ve somehow been mistakenly left off the track listing for their 2009 record, Born On Flag Day. I loved that disc and think this EP is just a dandy way of bridging the gap to the next album.

Deer Tick was one I missed in 2009, it made the Bird List too – so it’s gotta be good, intend to get the EP and album from eMusic when my subscription renews the end of the week.
well, they are great live also. i caught them during their early set at ACL Fest and they were great, even though it was bfore noon and the weather really sucked…
