CD’s I am Diggin’ Right Now is an occasionally occurring series where I casually highlight some discs (new and old) that I think you might like, without boring you with an overly-wordy, metaphor-filled “review” that I often like to bestow upon some other discs.

I recently blabbed about Charlie Parr and I went on and on about Possessed by Paul James a few months ago. It seems as though I have really developed a soft spot for the blues-men of the world. While Gordie Tentrees has a band with him most of the time, unlike the two aforementioned artists, he carries that same spirit with him in his new CD, Mercy or Sin. Tentrees will also bust out with an electric jam also, but again, dont hold that against him, oh followers of the great Scott Biram. Tentrees’ greasy voice melds with the even greasier licks to form a great blues album that rocks out without leaving the rather elastic boundaries of the blues.

Get a load of Gordie Tentrees on his Myspace page, would ‘ya??
