A.A. Bondy’s “American Hearts” is my new favorite CD. I love his lyrics … I love his musical style. The title song, “American Hearts” is probably my favorite cut of all. Such purity … such sweetness … and at the same time, he’s wry and a little dark, too, like on “Killed Myself When I Was Young.” Top notch stuff, here.
P.S. The new page looks good!
When the weather turns nice and the days warm up I add the holy trilogy of fishing pole, beer cooler, and Scott H. Biram’s Dirty One Man Band to my already cluttered car.
I am really digging “The Stars Are Out” by Sarah Borges and the Broken Singles!
The Gourd’s Haymaker. Upbeat music with witty, geeky lyrics. Great stuff!
As a teacher, I go to my classroom early to do my work and love cranking up Ryan Bingham’s Mescalito before the cranky crowd of teachers show.
I can’t stop listening to the new Missy Higgins
Eric Church’s Carolina is owning me right now
Wreck your Life by the Old 97′s. There are a bunch of great songs on there, but my favorite track has to be “Dressing Room Walls”. There is a classic line in there when he says, ” I’m gonna try not to fall down when singin’ for y’all”.
Fitz – I saw the 97′s last weekend, they were fantastic! It looks like theyll be touring again soon, so hopefully theyll make it down to your neck of the woods this time!
I know it’s been out for a while, but I still love Bulletproof by Reckless Kelly, especially God Forsaken Town and Ragged as the Road.
I am loving Sarah Borges and the Broken Singles latest disc, “The Stars Are Out.” The songs sounded especially good live last night!
Kelly…I’m seriously jealous of the fact that you are continuously afforded the opportunity to see great bands live. I, on the other hand, just found out I will be out of town when Hank 3 plays down here, thus probably missing my one chance to see quality live music for the calendar year. I do hope you are right about the next leg of the 97′s tour!!
Wilco (The Album) is doing it for me right now. The streaming version, not the leak, mind you.
Love the new design, looks great!
