Each weekend, I take my 22 month old son for a walk in his sweet ride. During the course of this trip, we hit the playground and other interesting areas of the neighborhood. I take this time to crank the Ipod and listen to whatever I am in the mood for. No critiquing, no analyzing, just enjoying. At some point during the trip, my son and I sit down and chill for a few minutes so he can rest up for another run at the playground. It is then that I lower the volume to a safe level and hand him one of my ear-buds and hopefully instill in him a desire for a better brand of music than friggin’ Wiggles. I decided that I will share my Brainwashing Tools with y’all, just in case there is a dad (or mother) out there that is as twisted as I am.
This weeks Father/Son Brainwashing Tool:

Speaking of the father/son music relationship, I just heard that Vern Gosdin died. He was one of my father’s favorites and was brainwashed into my head. The only difference was it was a car cassette player instead of an ipod. Although I just felt compelled to purchase a few of his songs to put on MY ipod. Ah….the circle of life.
thats a great memory, sadly, my parents werent really into popular music of any kind. I will say that they introduced me to The Oak Ridge Boys, and I’ll always equate “Elvira” to growing up as a kid in EAst Texas with my parents…
