Don’t have much time, so I’ll hit the basics. Thursday night, night #1 of the inaugural NX35. Both full sets that I caught (I caught pieces of a couple of others) were fantastic in very different ways.
Sabra Laval is a latter day Mazzy Star. Laval and her band successfully hushed a room of college-aged hipsters. The Heelers rocked and in my opinion, made life pretty tough for the acts that followed them. Go to the Dallas Observer’s Music Blog to hear my full thoughts on these sets.
