The Grateful Knob
10 October 2008 in Music, Random, blah blah blah, live gigsIn my mind, there is no denying that The Grateful Dead is a classic, iconic American band. In my opinion, the Dead represented a true alternative to mainstream rock of the 60′s and 70′s and were in the forefront of blending rock, country, funk and even jazz into a concoction that few people knew what to really call or describe it as. It is with great anticipation that the recordings of their work in front of the Egyptian Pyramids are being released soon as a 3 disc DVD/CD combo entitled Grateful Dead: Rocking the Cradle – Egypt 1978 from Rhino Records.
Say what you want about Jam Bands of today, but after listening to classics such as “Truckin’”, “Stella Blue” and “Fire on the Mountain”, even the most hard-core “non” dead-head will be bopping and strumming the air guitar.
Go to TWANGVILLE to see how you can win a new copy of this cool 3 disc combo inside of some really awesome packaging!
