Glen Campbell Give-Away: VINYL!!!
16 September 2008 in Events, Music, blah blah blahHello friends! I have been posting the various streams of audio that I have received from the new Glen Campbell release, “Meet Glen Campbell” for a couple of weeks now. I really have enjoyed what I have heard, and judging from emails and comments, so have y’all!
Along with another stream of audio from the album (one of the Tom Petty tracks that I think are severely overlooked in Petty’s catalog), I am here to give-away a Vinyl Copy (you’ll also get the CD, by the way) of the new offering from The Wichita Lineman.
All you have to do is leave a comment and tell me your favorite song that has been covered by anyone, not just on this album. I’ll pick the winner at random. I’ll pick a winner on Friday morning. Good Luck!!
CONGRATS TO “KAYB”!! The VINYL AND CD are on their way!!!

Sweet! I liked These Days and ended up liking the album more than I thought I would. Sign me up!
You Don’t Know What It’s Like (to love somebody) by Slobberbone!
What a surprising album! I grew up listening to Glen Campbell because he was one of my parent’s favorite singers. His voice brings back a lot of good memories. My favorite song on this album is is Angel Dream.
Can I get a copy of Wichita Lineman or Rhinestone cowboy?
No, and you didnt name a cover song!! You come back, ONE YEAR!!! No Give-away for you!!
One of my favorites was You don’t know what it’s like. I love that song. I like Glen and I remember when he was No. 1. Hope you pick me.
[...] The Gobblers Knob has another chance to win vinyl copies of Meet Glen Campbell. [...]
Johnny Cash’s covers of “One” and “Hurt” were amazing.
Although it’s not country, I really like Eddie Vedder’s cover of Tom Petty’s “Won’t Back Down.” A video of it can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3wkxAmQo-Vw
Hidy everbody!
Hi Dave! You better come back with your fave cover song if you want a chance for this big ol’ prize….just kidding, sort of.
Ok, I’m going to take another shot at this to redeem myself. My favorite cover is Darryl Lee Rush’s cover of Life in the Fast Lane by The Eagles.
Good one, and you have redeemed yourself! I actually prefer Darryl Lee’s cover of Matthew Ryan’s “Irrelevent” or even “Johnny Come Lately” by Steve Earle originally…
My favorite cover song is “First Cut Is The Deepest” from Sherly Crow, what a great song!
I WILL TAKE THE BAND, TRAVIS’S VERSION OF THE SEMINAL POP CLASSIC, “HIT ME BABY ONE MORE TIME!” THE PAIN, THE AGONY, THE SPLENDOR OF TEENDOM!
While I enjoy the original better, I do like what the Dixie Chicks did with Landslide, from Fleetwood Mac
I saw Frank Black cover “Duke of Earl” once and my jaw hit the floor.
How ’bout Chris Cagle…”Miss Me Baby” as my favorite pick (for today, anyway).
I can’t pick a favorite, so I’ll go with a recent cover: Jamey Johnson’s “Dreaming My Dreams.”
how about rhinestone cowboy? be nice
I shall nicely ask who’s version (other than campbell’s) you like of Rhinestone Cowboy since to enter you must give me your fave “cover song”. Your fine though, its “chip the dog” that is bansihed for one year
OK, Kelly. You asked for it! The von Trapp family lives and the hills are still alive… no, really, I gotta go with Gipsy Kings’Mosaique.
The Gatekeeper is alive!
Thanks Dave, good job. the gatekeeper will always be alive and well in my heart!
Who is Glen Campbell?
