I have said many times here before that I have a severe man-crush on the one and only Chris Knight. His music has impacted me in ways that few other artists have. After listening to his latest release, Heart of Stone. I continue to be amazed at how album after album excels in all areas. Heart of Stone is lyrically, vocally and musically distinctive. I mean, so many of his songs are cuts that simply couldn’t be pulled off by anyone else! People have tried to cover his songs, but can you honestly picture anyone else singing “Maria”, “Love & a .45″, or “Lord’s Highway”? The new disc’s opener “Homesick Gypsy” is one such track that I simply can not envision another singer attempting.
Chip from AWT & Twangville sums up the appealing and unique nature of Knight’s voice and vision. I hope this disc gets the widespread attention and acclaim it deserves, as I found Knight’s last studio effort Enough Rope to be a criminally underrated Country-Rock effort.

Hey Kelly. It is OK to admit a man crush. If you are going to have one Chris Knight is as good as they come.
I just came back from seeing chris knight at the red dirt round-up, and it was awesome to see thousands of fans either singing along to his stuff or seeing the lightbulb pop-up over new fans heads as they realized how great he really is…
