New Brandon Rhyder Tracks

11 July 2008 in blah blah blah

Add this to the list of valuable nuggets that the fine folks at The 9513 have been steadily supplying me.  Brandon Rhyder’s new disc, Every Night, is about to be released, and he has posted a song or two from it on his Myspace, including the single, “This Ain’t It”.

This should be a solid record.  While good, Rhyder’s music isn’t anything revolutionary.  Having said that, his voice is a special, unique and very strong instrument, that I feel sets him apart from many people that are crowding the Texas Music Scene.  I have had a chance to see him live with his full-band, but it has been the times I have seen him solo in an acoustic setting, where his voice can take over the room with its power.

This release comes in the midst of a ton of great regional artists releasing new material soon.  Fresh music from Rhyder, Micky & the Motorcars, Jason Boland & the Stragglers, Chris Knight (honorary Texan) only enhance this years output from The Mother Truckers, Reckless Kelly, Back Porch Mary, Hayes Carll, 1100 Springs, Bart Crow and many others.
