Awesome Song: “Psychic” by Sam Baker

The other day I was listening to the trusty Brett Dillon on the radio and he played a song that floored me. The voice sounded like Todd Snider, but I hadn’t heard it before. Dillon came on and said the tune was from Texas sonwgwriter Sam Baker.  After a little research, I found out it was Baker’s song “Psychic”, which is from the 2007 album Pretty World.  This is one of those tracks that just made me feel different as I listened to it.  It has a rock vibe mixed with a casual, story-telling vocal method that gives the song such a laid back feel at the same time.  I couldn’t find the full-track anywhere online, but I found this sample on Baker’s website.  Sam, if you’re reading this (I wish), please put the entire track up on your myspace for the world to hear….
