New Stuff from Carrie Rodriguez

I was coming back from a business trip this past January and I had the pleasure of running into one of my favorite female artists inside the food-court in Austin’s Airport.  Carrie Rodriguez was walking around carrying her fiddle (it was in its case).  I said “hi” then “bye”,  and after we parted ways I wondered when her next album would be coming out.  Thanks to the great music blog, Songs:Illinois, that question is now answered (along with audio of a new track!).  For those of you that are sadly unaware, Rodriguez has an angelic twang that is only matched in awesomeness by her fiddle playing.  After years of teaming up with Chip Taylor (they have put together a couple of Americana’s better albums over the last 4 or 5 years.), she looks to be making real progress with a solo career as she is booked to tape an episode of Austin City Limits after the new disc is out.
