Movie Update: There will be blood
26 January 2008 in Random, Video, blah blah blahOK, I just got back from a rare trip to the movies (wife and baby were out with “the girls”). There Will Be Blood is as glorious as serious movie making gets! This movie has already received a large share of rave reviews and award nominations. Daniel Day-Lewis again displays the skill that has made him one of, if not THE, greatest actors working. Many remember his role as that Butcher guy from Gang’s of New York, and this role is equally as powerful. His turn here is as controlled as his Gang’s role was flamboyant. With the exception of scattered fits of rage, sadness and violence, Day-Lewis puts on a facade that hides, however thinly at times, his inner drive and lust for the oil that he so desperately hopes will equal peace and contentment. Paul Dano, the teen that wouldn’t talk in Little Miss Sunshine also turns in a performance that should be remembered for years as a pioneer preacher that seems to have something other than salvation on his mind. I wont divulge any spoilers, or detail if in fact, Day-Lewis ever attains the state of solace he seeks. I put the trailer to this masterpiece below, go see this film!!
