Quick thought as I am on my way out the door for work. I just can’t handle it anymore and I have to stand up and speak out against the evil, fast-spreading catastrophe that is the Kleenex commercial!! You know the one. It has the bald dude wearing a Mister Rogers sweater coaxing people into sitting on his couch of despair in a busy urban area (totally normal, right??) and forcing them to shoot out tears the likes of which we haven’t seen since that kid got mad at everyone for making fun of Britney. How insane is this commercial!!!??? The song, “Let it Out,” isn’t bad actually, a little fluffy, but a nice little dittie. I can’t get over this dude acting so sensitive and showing his fake puppy dog eyes each time old farts start moaning about faulty fake hips, cell phones with too many buttons and grandkids that won’t call (which reminds me, I need to call my Maw-Maw on her Jitterbug). Only part of the blame lies on this creepy wannabe Dr. Phil though. Who are these people that will sit down on an Ikea couch in the middle of a city sidewalk and start talking about how their father dying made them sad, and then say to the bald guy “I don’t know why I’m crying?!?!?“ I do!! It’s because your life is so sad and empty that a guy with a couch on the street is the only friend you have!!!!!! I realize they may be actors, but it’s more fun to assume they aren’t. I usually try not to use this blog as a platform for hate, but alas, hatred is what I feel for this commercial of pain. If you have read the preceding rant and have no clue what I am talking about, check it below… at your own risk, and have a Kleenex ready for any projectile that shoots from your mouth!!
