Every so often I like to tell my loyal subjects (that’s you) about the other blogs and what they are blogging about and salivating over at this point. Many of you may already hit these sites or hit this site from one of those, if that’s the case, my bad…..
- My home-sista Cindy at the Line that is so Fine and so Live has been in a honky-tonk mood as she has had recent postings that introduce us to a ton of great acts. Be on the look-out for a Gobblers Knob/Fine Line happening in the coming months.
- The Brothers Vercher of The 9513 took a trip to the Big State festival last weekend, and other than catching ANY of Craig Morgan’s set, I’d say they made the right choices when it came to their weekend stage decisions.
- While it isn’t a blog, NPR’s website is a treasure trove of live music in podcast form or just over the computer, radio-style. They recently posted their podcast of a live concert from Iron & Wine.
- Chip at Amber Waves of Twang has adjusted his Top 50 of 2007. I would never attempt such a herculean task, yet he seems to nail it. I would have the new discs from Bleu Edmondson and Ryan Bingham in there somewhere, but hey, it’s not easy. He also joins me and many others in wanting the world to know about Mr. Bingham.
- The CMT.com blog has a posting about something I raved about a while back. It really is amazing how one movie can create such a stir over an extended amount of time without having big budgets or being placed in thousands of theaters. Interesting note for you folks in Central Texas, the afforementioned blog subjects will be playing the songs for which I swoon at Stubbs in November. Sadly, there isn’t a Dallas date.

What!? You mean you’re not a fan of the genius that is “Redneck Yacht Club”?
I normally wouldn’t go to a Morgan show, but we were trying to swing by and hear everyone. Unfortunately there was so much to take in that we didn’t exactly get to see everyone. The Robison Bros trumped Reckless Kelly and Grainger Smith, and The Flatlanders trumped Drive-by Truckers.
I know, just a little kidding around. I like to hit as much as i can when i do the festivals also. Getting to see the Robisons together wouldve been cool, and if theres something better then seeing one of the flatlanders solo shows, it’s seeing them together, i am jealous! By the way, I am an identical twin and we endure constant ribbing at shows, much like ya’ll probably do, I am sure…
We don’t look as identical as we used to, but we still get the ribbing for the name similarities. It’s the the point that you know it’s coming after an introduction. It’s so predictable it’s halfway amusing, in a way.
Well, my name is kelly, and my bro’s is TELLY! he goes by his middle name scott, but my favorite question is, “is it wierd being a twin?” or “if i hit him, do you feel it??”….
