I appreciate the multitude of things that must happen simultaneously for a family man to have that kind of weekend, it's kin to winning the lottery, so God bless you. Now let me give you a glimpse of my weekend, the antithesis of yours, however just as unlikely. To preface this it is important to know that I am a "glass is half full" kind of guy( I think you half to be with six kids but thats another story.) Anyway, my weekend really starts Friday morning when my 12 year old has to be at school by 6 am for a field trip, so that means i'm up at 5:15. That night my wife and I were going to see Brooks and Dunn and Alan Jackson( again, for someone who gets to see the kind of bands you do on a regular basis this may not seem like that big a deal)we had a VIP suite and parking pass which added to the anticipation. We also had a six kid dilemma, my 8 year old had "homecoming" for his peewee tackle football team( why they have homecoming for a peewee football team is another story) and my 10 year old had a birthday party that started at 6 pm and ended at 10, so even if we found a babysitter it would be nearly impossible for her to shuttle everyone where they needed to be. At about 4 pm I was resigned to the fact that we would not be able to go to the concert. On top of me getting everyone where they needed to go that evening , I then had to pick up my 12 year old up at school from his field trip at midnight, of course they did not get in until 1 am. Saturday began as it has the past 2 and 1/2 months with me taking my eight year old to his football game. They have to be there by 7:30 am( these are the kind of things you need to consider before your son gets to the age where he will participate in sports.) After his game I have to rush him home to get my 12 year old and bring him back in time for his game. At 4 pm I arrive at home to find my beloved Tennessee Vols getting their brains beat in by Alabama(this after I have posted some smack talk on Chip's site, as he is a big 'Bama fan). Saturday night we did find a babysitter and planned to meet some friends at a Martini Bar in town. Both my wife and I are extremely tired but we're determined to push through it because we feel like we need to take advantage of our opportunities to go out. We arrive at the establishment about 9:30. After an attempt to drink my way thrugh it we decided to call it a disappointing night at 11:30. Sunday, I tried to catch up on my sleep and the day was topped off by my beloved Dolphins getting embarassed by the Patriots to fall to 0-7. So hopefully my story will only add to the euphoria of your weekend.
