Bluegrass on The Knob…
13 October 2007 in Music, Random, Video, blah blah blah, live gigsI just got done watching The Edge of Country on GAC. The episode was devoted to all things Bluegrass. I loved it because I all too often leave Bluegrass off my list of CD’s to buy or artists to look up. This is strange considering that any time I’ve caught a live Bluegrass act, I have jammed like there’s no tommorrow (not a pretty picture, just ask my wife). One of the top concerts of all time for me was when I caught David Grisman with Cadillac Sky opening up for him. One of the videos that was shown on Edge was “On The Road – Live” from Sam Bush. It’s a fantastic song, plus the man can sing and play anything with strings, including my shoes, most likely. You may have noticed that I have videos posted on the left side of your screen. I typically just put clips there that I like and think you might as well, with no real format or thought beyond being random. In this case, I am making it an (almost) all Bluegrass strip o’ clips. Please check them out (no, Chad Vader is not a new act from Kentucky or N.C., it’s just funny). I went with live videos because I feel that Bluegrass jams are best in the live format vs the studio. Enjoy….
UPDATE: CMT.com’s blog has a post about a recent trend in the bluegrass world. He seems to be forgetting about the folks in the videos over to the side of this page that show a very different trend than what he is detailing.
