Tearin’ up the Blanco Elefante!!
Thanks to all of the Knobbers out there who look to help me out and send me links and thoughts on bands that they either want to see profiled on here, or just want me to jam to to while I am chillin’ on the Knob with some Cuban’s and some cigars (bet you didn’t see that one coming did ya??). I was recently turned on to Jordan Mycoskie & The Fire Breathing Fish. Jordan is based out of Ft. Worth and is hard to miss if you head out to many live shows on the western side of this vast metroplex. Mycoskie records, performs and generally tears it up with another of my favorites, Phil Pritchett. Much like seeing Ed Burleson at Love and War, 1100 Springs at Dan’s Silverleaf, or Mo Robson at Adair’s, catching one of Jordan’s shows at The White Elephant is similar to spying on someone dance like they think there isn’t anyone watching. They tear it up (see picture above). Please check out his myspace page to not only listen to some tunes, but to download some of your new favorites. I particularly enjoyed the fire (pun very intended) out of “Memphis,” but you should check out the rest of the selected tunes also. Coming up very soon, the Fish that Breathe Fire will be a part of a killer line-up at the afforementioned Elephant that Lacks Color. The show on July 3rd will help soothe the wound left by Willie shooting his fireworks out of state this year. All this talk of fire breathing fish makes me wanna hit the local fine seafood establishment like it ain’t been hit before!!!!

[...] legend would take stage. That was a bummer for sure. My bummed-out depths were soothed once I recognized the opener who was taking the stage. The man charged with warming the crowd up for Shaver was none other than Ft. Worth kingpin and [...]
